The Mission of the New Star Family Justice Center is to provide victims of family violence access to comprehensive services from one location. Through community collaboration, we offer programs and services designed to empower victims to become survivors and break the cycle of violence. The New Star Family Justice Center’s Program Director, under the supervision of the Executive Director, provides leadership in the continued development of the program by building new partnerships and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant partners to establish a streamlined referral network.

FJC PROGRAM DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Present the FJC program for community education and potential program partnerships.
  • Develop and expand partnerships with Law Enforcement entities, DCFS, DV service providers, first responders and health care professionals in the South Bay.
  • Coordinate and Facilitate monthly partnership meetings.
  • Schedule subject matter trainings for first responders/service providers (Strangulation / Polyvictimization / Trauma-Informed Methods, 40-Hrs DV Training, etc.)
  • Create newsletter to amplify the FJC message and create relationships.
  • Attend scheduled events and conferences.
  • Assist with grant reporting
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings as required and complete other duties as assigned.                      

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and staff in-service trainings.
  • Attend development training as required and completing other duties as assigned.
  • Hold in confidence all organization and client-related information        

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to interact well with diverse persons, organizations, and groups.
  • Knowledge of social/cultural dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault victimization.
  • Must be able to travel out of state for some conferences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bi Lingual Spanish / English a plus                                                                  

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:                                                                            

Bachelor’s Degree. Must complete the 40-Hrs victim advocate training within first 3 months of employment and secure Victim Service Provider certification. Job Type: Part-time – Contract period from time of employment to 12/2024
